Program Manager, MetaMeta / SMART Centre Group
I have a background with Wageningen University in International Land- and Water Management (BSc and MSc). After graduation in 2012, I worked with a Watarboard in Ridderkerk for two years on the development of a policy for the maintenance of water ways and the involvement of stakeholders in a Dike Improvement project around Dordrecht. In 2014 I moved to Mzuzu, Malawi to start working with the SMART Centre as Centre Manager. At the SMART Centre we organized technical and business trainings for local companies involved in the production of wash technologies such as manual drilling, hand pumps, latrine, water filters and rainwater harvesting. Part of the work was also setting-up the Faith and Water program. In August 2019 I joined MetaMeta in Wageningen and am responsible for the coordination of the SMART Centre Group, the Flood-based Livelihoods Network and one project in Pakistan where we work in two Spate Irrigation systems to improve the water right and division of water, in order to make the water more productive.
