Environmental engineer who is an expert in WASH and has expertise in trialling and developing novel technologies and in water, coupled with extensive project management experience. Interested in developing and trialling novel water, sanitation and hygiene technologies with a focus on development, protracted crisis and gender.
Daniel Blesson Deo Silitonga holds a degree in Geodesy Engineering (Diponegoro University) and M.Eng in Civil Engineering in Natural Disaster Engineering at Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia. During his studies, he focused on Mitigation of natural disasters, especially Landslides due to Rain and Seismicity. He works for the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in the field of Water Resources in BWS Sumatera V, Padang , West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Currently responsible for planning work, design concepts and studies of flood control, surface water use, technical irrigation, and lake conservation (water resources in the central authority river area in Western Sumatra).
My thesis is about 'citizen participation for water heritage in build environment.

I'm a hydro-geophysicist with a broad range of experience in field, experimental, and computational hydro-geology. Currently I’m working with GSA on their relief program with over 10 years work experience in Somalia and Kenya. My areas of expertise are planning and implementation of hydrogeological, hydrological, geotechnical, geophysical studies as well as climate change and environmental studies.
