2. Designing and delivering effective Capacity Development solutions in the environmental and water sectors.
3. Delivering strategic sustainability analysis for public policy development to local authorities in Colombia and International NGOs

Jacqueline is an energetic and ambitious WASH expert with many years’ experience in complex development projects. Her work has focused on community organization and empowerment, civil society engagement and capacity building of WASH actors for effective service delivery. She has worked on assignments for the Dutch Government, USAID and GIZ pre-dominantly in Kenya, Sudan and South Sudan. In her recent role in a project for the Dutch Embassy in South Sudan, she succeeded to oversee the establishment and strengthening of community based management structures for over 700 decentralized water systems. She is convinced of the need for and viability of sustainable development even in fragile contexts. She is currently working with Civil Society Organisations in South Sudan to enhance citizen participation in water governance.

Giulio Castelli holds a MSc in Environmental Engineering and a PhD (with Honors) in Sustainable Management of Agricultural Forestry and Food Resources from the University of Florence. During his studies, he focused on water harvesting, water resources management and participatory approach to development. He worked for Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Sudan. He carries out research in South and Central America and Africa and he collaborates with The World Bank and with Mani Tese and ICU – Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria NGOs. He is currently developing his research focusing on wadi hydrology and climate feedbacks in arid catchments.
